Welcome! This website is for women of all ages who have not had reconstruction surgeries following cancer and cancer gene-related mastectom(y/ies). It may be due to not wanting more surgery, personal choice, or not being able to due to cancer treatments or side effects. Whatever the reason, Flattops is here to assure you that there are others like you! Nearly 2/3 of women opt not to have reconstruction, so while at times we may feel like we're in the minority, there are a lot of us out there. Why do we feel like there's no one else like us?

There seems to mostly be information online about plastic surgery, and--until now--nothing online for women who aren't interested in it. This site is meant to be an alternative to the wealth of resources that exist on plastic surgery. It's for women who have already explored the options and decided that they don't want reconstruction, as well as for ladies who have been living as "flattops" following cancer-related or prophylactic (cancer gene-related) surgery.

Stop by and stay for awhile. You're sure to make some new friends. Whether you're awaiting surgery or had it years ago, please join--to learn, to be a mentor to other women, or both.

One of the most popular pages on the site, as of late, is the Famous Women page, with caricatures and short bios of many celebrities who have had mastectomies. It will help you see that you're not alone! You can also download the brand new Flattops Sampler booklet, which contains portions of the most popular sections of the website. It's a nice gift for any woman you know who may be having, or has had, a mastectomy . . . or for yourself!
